The second grade language arts program will consist of a variety of reading experiences, including independent and guided reading. In addition students will participate in literacy activities such as journal writing, word study, reading response, listening stations, and others throughout the year. Students will also experience all steps of the writing process during Writer’s Workshop. Reading, writing, listening and speaking are keys to learning and will be integrated and applied throughout all subjects.
